Doddle aims to turbo charge click & collect in Australia

Posted on 30th July 2019

This month we’re proud to be able to announce that Doddle has arrived in Australia.

Located in the heart of Sydney’s business district and headed up by Justin Dery, our new Doddle Australia team is in advanced discussions with some of the country’s biggest retailers and carriers, and is hoping to help boost online shopping in a market in which its potential is a long way off yet being full realised.

Online shopping remains at 9% of total retail in Australia, while the comparable figure in the UK is around 18% and less than half (42%) of online retailers across Australia currently offer click & collect solutions while only 38% offer click & return solutions.

Justin Dery, our new CEO of Australia and Asia Pacific, commented: ‘There’s increasing consumer demand for fast and convenient delivery options, as well as digital, self-service returns.  Plus the high cost of logistics and geographical dispersion in Australia means retailers really want to use their stores for online orders at the point that’s closest to the consumer and we can help them do that.’

Our ‘Powered by Doddle’ solutions – already trusted by global names such as M&S – will drive increasing choice and convenience for customers and will help omnichannel retailers turn their stores into mini distribution centres, increasing efficiency, reducing costs and driving customers into stores to increase loyalty and revenue.

We’re predicting exciting times ahead and can’t wait to keep you posted with regular updates from Australia…
